Amuloma Nexus Shipping is a Sierra Leonean freight forwarding and cargo-handling company operating from 45 Goderich Street, Freetown. We move import and export consignments by sea and by air, clear them through customs and hold them in bonded storage until release.
We were set up in 2011 to fix a specific problem: cargo arriving in Freetown with incomplete paperwork, no pre-lodged declaration and no one accountable for the delay. Our model is deliberately narrow. We handle the file from booking to collection, we document everything in advance, and one named coordinator owns the reference until the container or air pallet leaves our custody.
What we handle
Full container load and groupage imports, export bookings, air freight, out-of-gauge and break-bulk project cargo, customs classification and declaration, port agency support and warehousing. Our clients are importers of building materials, machinery, pharmaceuticals, FMCG and industrial spares, plus NGOs and contractors running funded projects in Sierra Leone and the wider Mano River region.
How we work
- Pre-clearance first. Documents are reviewed and lodged before the vessel berths, so release is not held up by paperwork that could have been fixed at origin.
- Written, itemised quotations. Freight, terminal handling, clearance, storage and agency are shown separately — no surprise lines on the invoice.
- Milestone reporting. Booked, loaded, in transit, arrived, cleared, collected. You hear from us at each one.
- Compliance over shortcuts. Correct HS classification, accurate values and honest declarations, because a reclassification at the port costs far more than the duty saved.
Registration and affiliations
Amuloma Nexus Shipping is registered with the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration and operates as a licensed clearing agent at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay. We work alongside the Sierra Leone Ports Authority, terminal operators, haulage partners and marine insurers, and we are a member of the Freetown Chamber of Commerce.
Where we are
Our office sits minutes from the port and the Goderich container terminal, which means a coordinator can be at the quay or the shed inside twenty minutes of a call. Office hours are Monday to Friday 08:00–18:00 and Saturday 09:00–14:00, with out-of-hours cover for vessels berthing overnight.
